It’s finally that time of year again! Time for stand up paddleboarding! Stand up paddleboarding is always popular at Woodlake and we are happy to be able to bring it back to you again this summer! In stand up paddleboarding, a rider stands up on a large board and uses a paddle to move through the water. It is one of the fastest-growing boardsports in the world. Sit out by the reservoir one day this summer and you are guaranteed to see many people stand up paddleboarding!! This year, we have had to adjust the types of classes that we offer due to social distancing guidelines. We will start by offering advanced classes, for those who have either taken a SUP class before or who have previous experience stand up paddleboarding. This allows us to still maintain a 6ft distance between participants and the instructor as well as minimal contact between the instructor and participants. We will be starting with 4 classes a week, specifically a Monday sunrise class, Tuesday evening class, Wednesday mid-morning class, and Friday sunrise class. For exact times, please see the fitness calendar on our website. All classes will be available on the signup genius on Fridays at 7 pm, sent out with the other sign-ups. Boards and paddles will be cleaned after each use as well as lifejackets. We are excited to start offering these classes again and can’t wait for a great turnout!
