Woodlake Hurricanes Swim Team
An exciting & healthy way for your children to spend a portion of the summer is to join the Woodlake Hurricanes Swim Team. The team provides an opportunity to develop and improve swimming skills in a safe and positive environment. Sportsmanship, skill development, team spirit, fitness, & fun are our top goals throughout the summer! For information or questions, please email email@example.com.
The Woodlake Hurricanes are part of the RMAL (Richmond Metropolitian Aquatics League). We are a Division A team. This year the teams we will swim against are: ACAC, Granite, MAC, YMCA, Willow Oaks, and we will compete against one Division B team (TBA).

Carrie Wilson (Head Coach)
Hi, my name is Carrie Wilson and I am so excited to be leading the Woodlake Hurricanes this year! From the age of 6, I've been involved in competitive swimming at many levels and many capacities. I swam for my local swim club, captained both my high school team and college team and have been competing with masters teams in Jacksonville, Warrenton and locally. I've lifeguarded and taught swim lessons to a wide variety of ages-6 months to 80 years! I've also coached a summer league team in Maryland and have had the opportunity to guest coach for swim clinics focusing on technique. My full-time gig is teaching third grade at Swift Creek Elementary. I'm looking forward to getting to know every swimmer, seeing everyone improve and having fun! See you at the pool!
Coach Kerri (Assistant Swim Coach)
I swam for Woodlake for 13 years and am ecstatic to be back for my fifth year coaching the Hurricanes. I currently attend the University of Tennessee and am working towards an Honors Communications Studies major. I am still an avid swimmer and a member of the club swim team at UT. Carrying on our many Woodlake traditions is important to me and I hope to continue the growth of our swimmers not only in the pool but as a family and team as well.
Coach Michael (Junior Assistant Swim Coach)
I am Michael Alejandro Davis, I am a junior at Cosby High School. I swam for the Woodlake Hurricanes for 9 years and have helped out with Tropical Storm for the past 3 years. I swim for a U.S.A. swim team and I am on my fourth year of U.S.A. swimming. I have competed in Regional Sates and National level of swimming. I plan on continuing swimming even through college and more. Woodlake Swimming has always been a part of me ever since I joined and my love for the team has only grown.
Coach Ashley (Junior Assistant Swim Coach)
This will be my 9th year swimming for the Woodlake Hurricanes and my first year coaching. I have also been swimming for Quest Swimming for 6 years. My favorite strokes are freestyle and breaststroke. Woodlake has really developed my love and passion for swimming and I hope to help younger swimmers find that love as well! I am in the Math and Science program at Clover Hill High School and I will be a Junior in the fall.
Coach Adam (Assistant Swim Coach)
I have been swimming with Poseidon Swimming for 8 years and am committed to swim at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall. I am a senior graduating from Cosby High School this year and a team captain for their swim program. For the past two years, I have been a camp counselor at Passages Adventure camp. Summer couldn’t come soon enough and I can’t wait to have the most fun summer Woodlake has ever seen!
Coach Grace (Junior Assistant Swim Coach)
Hi! I’m Grace Braughton. I’m 17 and I attend Manchester high school, I started swimming on Woodlake hurricanes when I was 10 and swam for Quest 4 years after that. Now, I swim on my high school team. I’m in band and marching band and I enjoy music and throwing for track. This team has been my family and I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a coach this summer and hopefully be a part of making Woodlake hurricanes an inviting and spirited team! I can’t wait!
Tropical Storm is a fun, safe learning environment for your young swimmer, ages 4-9, and a preparatory program for our Summer Swim Team. The Tropical Storm swim team will swim at one of our home meets. This program runs 4 weeks from June 17 - July 12, Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. This is a great learn-to-swim program! Your swimmer will feel safe and comfortable in learning water safety and stroke technique.
• Bridges the gap between lessons and a full-time swim team
• Practices 5 times a week for 45 minutes
• Learn same skills/drills/wording taught in teams
• Lower commitment than full time team
• Exposes swimmers to team environment
• It is FUN!
Tropical Storm is headed up by our awesome coaching staff!
