Join Santa for fun and games with the characters from the Island of the Misfit Toys! Come and tour the island at the SRC. Santa has made sure that most of the characters from the Island of the misfit toys will be at the event! Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa, have a cup of hot chocolate or pay a little extra for Hermie’s Spirits on location. Make a special reindeer ornament, vote on the best tree in The Island of Misfit Toys Competition, have a smore by the fire, pin the nose on the pink polka dotted elephant for prizes, ice fish for prizes, guess how many of Rudolph’s noses are in the jar, and watch the movie itself! Lots to do at the event. Come and stay a short time or a long time! The lights and the pool decorations will be amazing! The Misfit Toys The residents of the Island of Misfit Toys are a group of characters from the Rankin/Bass television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. They are sentient toys who all have some strange quirk about them. Because of said quirks, these toys feel that there is no human child who could possibly want to play with them. As such, King Moonracer brings them to stay on the island until suitable owners can be found. In the special, Rudolph, Hermey, and Yukon Cornelius first encounter the Misfit Toys upon accidentally landing on their island. Purchase and decorate a tree for $35 for The Island of the Misfit Toys Competition A 2-3 foot tree will be at the event Dec. 3 for rain date. You will decorate the tree as you like and voting will begin at the event at 4 pm until 7 pm. You may come to the SRC with your decorations at noon until 2 pm to decorate your tree. The winner will be announced the following week. Please plan on stopping by and undecorating your tree by 7pm on the day of the event. These trees will be planted in Woodlake.
