Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024 Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Location: Parking Lot Across from AFC Want new plants that are native to our area but do not want to pay for them?  Bring your native plants and/or seeds to the Plant Swap and exchange with someone else in your neighborhood for something you do not have. There will be a giveaway for Earth Day so come out and win the prize! GENERAL PLANT SWAP ETIQUETTE: • Do offer trades that are comparable in desirability and/or value • Don’t take anything from anyone’s station without their consent • Do stay respectful and kind with your fellow swappers • Don’t get offended or pushy when someone says “no” • Do get away from your station every now and then to build relationships within your local plant community • Don’t feel bad if someone you traded with re-swaps your plant with someone else HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST PLANT SWAP- As soon as your local swap is announced, here are a few things to keep in mind -Start propagating. As soon as you’ve confirmed your attendance, decide which plants you’d like to swap. You can do this closer to the event date, but remember that cuttings take time to root, if you prefer to trade rooted plants. -Repurpose a box to transport your plants to and from the event. -Tag your plants. Attach a plant I.D. to your plants so it’s clear what you’re offering. Also, label plants to the best of your knowledge (or the best of your Google search skills). -Connect with new plant friends. One of the best parts about attending a plant swap is meeting other plant lovers in your community. An easy way to keep in touch is adding your Instagram handle to your plant I.D. tag.
