Share0 SharesThanks to everyone – we have met our 2022 “Angels” goal/quota.   Email jennyd@woodlakeonline.com by November 10 to get an Angel. A Woodlake tradition that keeps on giving! Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in your community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree. The Salvation Army collects necessary information to determine qualification for participation in the program and details on each Angel. Examples may include, but are not limited to: photo ID, proof of residence (lease, utility bill or mail received from the school district or other government agency). Examples of documents needed for each child may include but are not limited to : birth certificate, official custody or guardianship papers, clothing and shoe sizes, and a toy wish for each child. No private information for you or your Angel is shared with the public. Donors will only be given a first name and Christmas wish list for each Angel. Most donors spend between $50 and $100 per Angel but you can spend what you like.  A list of “Angels” will be available later with their age, sex, first name, clothing sizes and shoe sizes and a list of things they would like to have or need.  I will post this list on the Event page under this heading.  Then all you have to do is pick an “Angel” (and send an email to Jenny letting her know who you are interested in.  Jenny will then confirm your “Angel” by sending you an email with the needed information),buy items for them and return them.  Lifestyle Services will deliver them to the Salvation Army to deliver to their individual homes.  The AFC Meeting Room will hold the gifts and be open certain times and days in November to drop off the wrapped gifts.  The Angels may be limited this year due to Woodlake Community Association not having enough room to store the presents, but every gift and “Angel” counts.  More information to come!
